I also encourage you to try pre-planning responses to common requests and practice “micro-boundaries,” like finding quiet moments in gatherings to recharge. Finally, I emphasize the importance of self-compassion; the holidays don’t need to be perfect to be meaningful. Instead, focus on moments of joy, and allow space for imperfections. With a bit of planning, boundaries, and self-compassion, you can reduce stress, stay present, and truly enjoy what matters most this holiday season.
